OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center is pleased to announce the most recent winner of the DAISY Award, which recognizes outstanding nursing care. Winners are nominated by patients and their families.
The February 2019 Daisy Award was presented to Rebecca O’Donnell from Peoria. She works in the Surgical Acute Unit. Her nomination from a patient reads:
I was stuck in the surgical unit for most of the afternoon and evening due to a limited number of rooms available on the day of my surgery. Becky was wonderful! She took care of every need and want I had, along with keeping my family in the loop due to the restrictions in visits. . I cannot thank her enough for the incredible care.
The Daisy Award is a national endeavor that recognizes exemplary professional practice among nurses. OSF Saint Francis was the first hospital in the Midwest to participate in the program. Nurses who win receive a special pin and a bouquet of daisies.
